The primary purchasers of Luft Enterprises’ “as built” drawing services are members of the CAFM community. We understand from experience how to measure and collect data – and we have continuously worked with our clients to format the data in ways that add value to the production of CAD drawings. Increasingly our clients realize the value of maintaining master drawing directories where the accuracy of the drawings is known to be within a 1″ margin of error. While our drawings are often immediately used for space tracking purposes, they are equally valuable in providing architects and engineers files they can use with confidence.
The LINKS section connects to software developers of CAFM solutions, as well as to the various organizations with standards developed for the determination of rentable area. Each of these solutions is based on linking entities in CAD drawings to a database (from stand-alone to client/server architecture).
Luft Enterprises’ Inc. internally developed CAFM tools take a less complex approach. This approach concentrates on space allocation for chargeback purposes. Using a stand-alone workstation with AutoDesk AutoCAD Map2000i installed, all master data is maintained within the individual drawings. The user of our data does not need the support of a network analyst, or a DBA. However, should they have the need to move to a more complex solution the initial data integrity of the CAD drawing as our core business ensures an accurate base data.
